A Poem About My African Grey Kendi

 

Kendi is my African Grey,
She thinks she is a bird of prey,
Screeching chatter and her squawking,
And not forgetting her funny walking.

Kendi is a complete and utter darling,
Even thinks she can drink my carling,
She's crazy she's adorable and a bit cheeky,
All too often she is a bit leaky.

Sleek and grey with a red tail,
I think Kendi's a girl but she could be male,
Making a mess and bringing discord,
What did I get myself into oh Lord.

She stands on our mantle like an old Ming vase,
Nothings safe unless its behind bars,
I love Kendi I'm absolutely smitten,
It doesn't put me off when I've been bitten.
