Pim's Parrots
By Pim

I have wanted a parrot ever since I was a child, when I was about 10 years old my mum and dad were going to give me one for my birthday, but when they found out how expensive they were they bought me a budgie instead, he was a lovely little thing and I called him Sunny, but little did I realise that I would have to wait so many years before I got a parrot.
Three
years ago, my husband Ian said that I could have a parrot for my Xmas/Birthday
present, and so the excitement began, we looked for a couple of months, and
then heard that a breeder had some baby African greys. We made arrangements
to see them, and when we arrived instead of me choosing which one (there were
3 chicks) one of them climbed over the other two to get to me, that was my
Blue, we had to wait 4 weeks before we could bring him home.
During those 4 weeks, I bought a cage, toys, food and books, and visited my
baby parrot several times, and at last the day arrived for us to collect him.
Eighteen months later we bought another bird, this time it was a Black Headed
Caique, from a member of this group, and the group helped me to choose a name
for him........Smartie and the thrill and excitement was just the same as
it was when we bought Blue. The birds get on fine together, so after waiting
all those years I now have not one, but two parrots.
