Pionus Parrots Need Your Help!!

Please support this appeal if you have or love Pionus Parrots! The Pionus Parrot Research Foundation needs your help now. Feel Free to spread the word. No other foundation works as hard to help Pionus Parrots that this one. This message was posted on the Pionus List:

Howdy,

Two weeks ago I posted an appeal here asking list members to
consider sending small amounts of money to help finance the
research study that will commence in Mindo Ecuador in just a
few days. You can read about our plans at
http://www.fatparrots.org/pages/study2004.html.

Ten members responded generously.

We still need to raise a large amount of cash - but our
immediate need is for $1000-1500 to ensure that the living
expenses for the first three weeks of the study are met.

So I ask again that those of you who have not yet
contributed to please consider doing so because.

a) nobody else anywhere in the world is researching these parrots
b) we know that we will gain useful information
c) there are no funding vehicles for organizations such as
the PPRF - we MUST do it all ourselves
d) if we all give a little, then nobody has to give a large amount.
e) if nobody gives anything, I have to cancel the study
before it even starts and all Pionus parrots suffer as a result.

You can make a contribution by going to
http://www.fatparrots.org/pages/donate.html

When you click Donate Now, you will be taken to a PayPal page where you can make a credit card donation. Your donation can be as large or as small as you like -- if everybody only gives $10-20 dollars, we will be able to do our work without fear of having to abandon it for lack of funds.

PayPal is safe and efficient. The best part is, you do NOT
have to become a PayPal member to make a donation. The
process is easy and you will feel great knowing that the
work you help fund will be a permanent part of the
scientific record about these wonderful parrots.

We are running out of time. Please feel free to post this
note ANYWHERE on the net where you think Pi lovers might see it.

Here's a few more links.
