Welcome to our Desford photo albums, we hope you enjoy browsing through the various photos taken by ourselves and some of our members on many visits to Tropical Birdland Desford. Such members who have become the backbone of Parrot Passions UK.
We all arrived at different times, but gathered around the cafe area at 1.00pm. It was wonderful to meet up with so many people, whom previously we had only known through the Internet. We all enjoyed each others company in surroundings we can only describe as a parrot lovers paradise.
As soon as you entered Birdland we was greeted by a lovely senegal in the pay kiosk! We bought bags of fresh fruit and nuts and started our tour round the park. Within minutes birds just swooped from the air and landed on our shoulders, all eagerly awaiting fruit! The birds were beautiful Lorikeets, who just adore a juicy grape! Off they would go into the distance, but as you turned a corner, they were there waiting for another grape!
No one had lunch in peace, here you share everything with the birds!! Cups of tea with birds clinging on the rim, burgers that was demolished before it reached your mouth, you could not move for these friendly birds.
We had some wonderful days, days we won't forget, anyone who adores birds could not have wished for more, the weather was sunny and dry, the birds the most friendly you could meet and the company, well, we felt honoured to be in such lovely company, we met real parrot lovers, people who had only previously exchanged messages on the Internet, but Parrot Passions UK became very real that day.
